Position Duties

Architect Semiconductor Automation solutions for Customers, manage semiconductor automation projects and perform technical consultancy for pre-sales.  Interact with customers to understand the Device Under Test (DUT) requirements.  Schedule multiple meetings with the client’s technical team to understand the features of the DUT and application requirements.  Understand the Datasheet of the DUT.  List tests on the DUT based on Datasheet specifications.  Define test methodology and test plan for the DUT.  Select the instrument type based on the test specification.  Assess the throughput requirements and decide the number of test sites.  Perform a selection of instruments model based on sites and STS size.  Understand the instrument specifications, defining the test capabilities of the tester.  Define the instrument configuration of the NI STS.  Define the instrument to DUT connections and onboard system circuits required.  Design signal processing circuits for DUT.  Collaborate with PCB layout designers for load board schematic and layout.  The load board brings up and debug hardware on the load board.  Debug test program with hardware.  Apply design thinking to come up with user-centric solutions.  Evaluate the requirements and issues, by discussing them with leadership and team members.  Design the automation architecture.  Perform prototype and feasibility studies.  Go through the cycle of discussion with the client until the requirements are fully understood.  Make the design and architecture decisions regarding solutions.  Define tasks and milestones.  Analyze the risks involved at every stage of project execution and present them to both internal and external stakeholders.  Discuss risks with the development team.  Create a risk mitigation plan in collaboration with the stakeholders and leadership team.  Responsible for the estimation of resources, tracking project progress, and software development.  Assist the Sales team regarding presales analysis, study, and estimation.

Degree Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.

Experience Requirements

2 years of experience in the position offered or related occupation.

Special Requirements

Semiconductor post-silicon testing (Characterization + Validation + Production testing) in customer-facing and technical roles; architect software solutions for test and measurement automation using NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand for use in Semiconductor Characterization, Validation and Production Test; handling complete Software Development LifeCycle of Semiconductor test and measurement automation solutions using Project Management and DevOps tools; familiarity with common test methods for mixed-signal semiconductor devices such as ADC, DAC, Microphone, OPAMP, power converters, etc.; resource-optimized implementation and validation of Digital Protocols using Digital Pattern instrument (NI PXIe-657x) for SPI, I2C, I3C, SoundWire, PDM, I2S, TDM, and custom protocols; analyze semiconductor device test requirements, select instrumentation, plan instrument resource allocation with auxiliary circuits for a multi-site parallel test, and co-ordinate with PCB schematic/layout engineers for NI-STS loadboard/DIB/wafer probe design – final test and wafer probe; architect and develop scalable NI STS test program for multi-site parallel test using LabVIEW and C#/.NET; operating common pick-place/gravity-fed handlers, wafer prober, and develop drivers for use in with NI STS/TSM; familiarity with common EDA tools for schematic capture and PCB layout; electronics knowledge – design custom electronic circuits to achieve test requirements and debug circuits using bench/handheld instruments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, Power supply, function generator etc.; and experience automating NI and third-party instruments such as  Power Supply, Source Measure Unit, Function Generator, Oscilloscope, Digital Pattern, DAQ, Relay Driver, Multiplexers, and Dynamic Signal Analyzers.
