Products

Spot-It is a compact, rugged, standalone Machine Vision system, which is user programmable and available at a very attractive price with outstanding support from India’s first Machine Vision products manufacturer.

The software that is supplied with Spot-It, enables the user to program custom image processing routines in no time, using a simple configuration type interface. Therefore, no programming language needs to be learnt in order to program Spot-It.

Spot-It can address a wide variety of Machine Vision applications in various industries. Some of the application examples are listed below.

Spot-It can ensure that defects are detected before the product is sent to the next stage or shipped out of the factory. With Spot-It, your dependence on finding and training good manual inspectors will be a problem of the past.

“Welcome to the new world of assured quality!”

  Software

Spot-It comes with two software applications that need to be installed on a Windows XP/2000/NT/98 computer which will be used for configuring Spot-It.

Spot-It Explorer

The Spot-It Explorer is used to connect with one or more of the Spot-It units connected to the network and configure and test the peripherals on each of the units.

The Soliton Vision Artist (SVA) allows the user to develop and program the image processing script into Spot-It. The main modules in the script are:

  • Image Acquisition
    • Initiating the actions like camera initialization and acquisition upon occurrence of a trigger
  • Image Processing
    • The sequence of image processing steps in order to determine the pass / fail result
    • Typically included as Interrupt Service Routines
  • Control Actions
    • Turning on the appropriate DO lines based on the pass/ fail result

The SVA is an interactive application where the various image processing algorithms can be applied to the images acquired from Spot-It and tested it to make sure that the script produces the right results for each of the test images.

Poka-yoke

Pronounced “POH-kah YOH-keh” – is a Japanese term that means “fail-safing” or “mistake-proofing” [avoiding (yokeru) inadvertent errors (poka)] – is a method of preventing errors by putting limits on how an operation can be performed in order to force the correct completion of the operation.
