Case Studies » DSP Line Scan Camera (DLSC)
Soliton developed a DSP Line Scan Camera consisting of a Line Scan Camera (LSC) interfaced with a DSP-based image processing unit for laser fringe pattern imaging application. This fringe pattern would be imaged by the Line scan sensor. The LSC would then transmit the acquired image lines to the DSP based Processing Unit (DPU). The DPU has to then analyze the image data and transmit the results to embedded control system via Ethernet.
Soliton Approach
The Soliton team conducted a detailed study of the client's requirement, identified the requirements and came up with a design. Some of the vital requirements which were addressed were:
- Image acquisition up to 10K lines per second
- Maximum image resolution: 2048 pixels per line
- Camera parameter control via RS232
- Configurable LSC parameters include Line rate, Line resolution, Analog Gain, Analog Brightness, Digital Gain
In addition to delivering on the technical specifications, Soliton added value to this project by:
- Designing and delivering the DSP Line Scan Camera in a short span of 6 months
- Providing excellent support for the project
