Soliton PRIM inspects gaps between registration marks efficiently at fast web speeds. PRIM includes a High Speed Smart Camera, Lens, Lighting and software that can acquire high quality images of the registration marks and execute image processing algorithms on these images.

The functioning of the system is as follows:

The Smart Camera acquires the images of the CMYK Print Registration dots on the web, based on a trigger
The image processing software calculates and sends the distance between the registration marks to a control unit which can be a Microcontroller or a PLC
Based on the data, the control unit adjusts the printing rollers to ensure correct print registration and alignment

Soliton PRIM is also an ideal option for older printing setups which do not have an inbuilt print registration inspection system. By retrofitting PRIM on an existing printing press, you can deliver high print quality without having to invest in high end printing systems.
